Loaded for Bear

Man, it has been a LONG day! A long day of watching, waiting, and preparing for Ike. It seems the storm has drawn a bead on us here in the Houston/Galveston area, and will come in the wee hours of Saturday morning (but we'll start feeling the effects tomorrow afternoon). We are hunkered down here at the Bubba's Sis house, and we feel that we will be fine. Tomorrow will be a long day, too. Another long day of watching and waiting......

And loads of finger-crossing. And loads more of praying. I'll make sure I include you all when I talk to the Man tonight. And the next night.

We hunkerin' at The Boyfriend's. I think our best option now is that it keeps going slightly more to the east...

Geez, B/S! You've got me worried! You guys better hang on to your britches for dear life.

I have to admit I like your map better. Our local guy has it slinging directly to our side of Missouri...your pic shows it going more SE.

It's going to be such a long day. The watching and waiting is about to drive my delicate sensibilities bonkers.

Keeping fingers crossed that all will be well for you and yours. Be careful and be safe. Looks like my old stompin' grounds in Brazos County will just miss the hurricane force winds. Probably lots of evacuees heading there.

God bless, ya'll!
