Vintage Thingies Thursday - New Orleans Souvenir

**Scroll down for this week's Sincerely 'Fro Me to You!!

I love love love cobalt glass. You'll see it featured here in my Vintage Thingies a lot. I really love this piece, and keep it out on the kitchen counter all the time.

My great-aunt, knowing my love of cobalt glass, sent this to me. It's the perfect little jar to keep toothpicks in (in fact, I think that's what it's supposed to be used for)! I don't know where she got it - if she found it in an antique shop or if it was given to her by the original owner - the person, who, in 1904, got this very cool souvenir from New Orleans. Either way, I love it!

I love it, too! I have started a small cobalt collection just recently.

My grandmother used to have a small collection, and I understand if we'd kept it (maybe my mom has it and I don't know where it is) that it is worth some money. But it is also pretty!

We are staying put unless things change in the next 12-24 hours. Stay safe!

Ok, that's pretty cool. I think you're right about it being a toothpick holder. Growing up we had one very similar to that except it was clear glass with no writing. I wonder what happened to it...

Once Aunt B found out you loved the cobant blue stuff, she saved all of it for you. Aren't you blessed to have some of her things to remember her by.

What a nice little glass. I'll bet the pieces all look striking together.
