We are safe at Bubba's house near Dallas - it only took us 5 hours to get here, driveway to driveway, with one stop to let the doggies go potty. Not bad at all; nothing like Rita. We are watching a TV station from Houston and we are very glad we left. A hotel not 2 miles from where we live is being blown apart. Scary stuff.
Will keep ya'll posted. Pray for D... and her family - they stayed (they are further north and further from the water than us). I just heard from her and they are fine.

Just watched that on TV. National news. We're in Corpus. No rain or wind here yet. Maybe we're on the right side of the storm (even though we're on the left-LOL).
Glad you guys are ok...the TV is showing some nasty stuff. Glad to hear about D too. You two have got my pits all moist!
keep us updated. I am glad you guys are safe
I am behind reading your post by 17! But I came to the top one first to see if you were OK... So happy to hear you are fine, sure hope your home is holding up strong :)
Glad to hear you left. I have been watching all day while doing a paper and wondering about ya'll. Glad you are safe:)
Good to know that everybody is fine. What a horrible storm. I live in the Carolinas and the rain has been daunting this week. Stay safe!
I came with an invitation.

Hey there! So glad you all are safe. How's the weather in Dallas? Any word on your house? We have been praying for you all. The kids and I went to San Antonio on Thursday. I've never been through a hurricane and didn't want to stick it out. Any word from D today?(Saturday) I'm praying for her and her family. Take care and update when you can.
Julie
