Vintage Thingies Thursday - I'm a fan!

**Scroll down for this week's Sincerely 'Fro Me to You!!

It's my first Vintage Thingies Thursday! I'm so excited - I love old, vintage stuff! This week I'm showing off something simple, but one of my favorites. I found this old fan in an antique store and immediately fell in love.

I don't know how old it is, or even if it works, but it is on display in my kitchen! It reminds me of something I would have seen in my grandmother's house back when I was a child. OK, maybe even more recently. She kept stuff. And when she passed away two years ago, I got some of it! So Vintage Thingies Thursdays are going to be fun for me!

Great old fan. The best thing is that it reminds you of your grandmother...

We had an old fan like this when I was a kid. We used it while camping at Myrtle BEach, SC every summer. I think it was my grandmother's.

Thanks for joining in! Look forward to seeing you again!

How I wish my family had held on to more stuff from years ago...

The fan is pretty old. Before they made the manufacturers put safety grids on them. I guess those blades could cut fingers off maybe. Nice find!

Great fan! I've had my eye on old fans like this for a few months now. I've yet to find any around town in the antique shops, though.

I like old fans too, and they are very collectable again. My neighbor had a few of these, but they were in his shed and burned in a fire. Such a tragic thing to happen. I think that fan would look adorable in my kitchen!!

Welcome to VTT! It is so much fun...I love that fan, I am old enough to remember fans like that (grew up in the 1960s/early 70s)

Ooh. I love it. I have an old GE fan that I have out on display. My Nana said it was either her father or grandfathers (I can't remember which). My own grandparents were still using it in the early 1990's. Talk about quality.
Thanks for sharing and welcome to Vintage Thingies Thursdays. You are going to have so much fun.

I love this fan. We used to have one similar to this and I used it every night until I moved out.

My Mom had (has) one of those and one of the blades hits the cage, so it clinks... makes me crazy.. or used to! My Dad probably has it in his garage, he keeps everything!!

They get more and more charming as the years go by! I can understand why you display it in your kitchen--a connection to the past, sweet memories of your grandmother, cozy and homey!
Thanks for sharing!
Blessings to You!

I've always wanted one of those, I think they are so cool. Maybe you could have it rewired.

WELCOME, I am glad you can join us!
They sell these at the mall, new
painted ones. I couldn't believe
how much $ they wanted. Vintage is
much cooler!

Welcome to VTT! You'd see a fan almost exactly like that being used at my parents' home today!
