Sucker Punch

That's what a cancer diagnosis is. A sucker punch. Life can be going along just fine and then BAM! You're battling a serious disease. In the past year I have known five people who have gotten a cancer diagnosis. Two of them have already passed on. It's downright scary.

Not all of the cancers I've brushed up against lately are breast cancer - but October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and that's the cancer I'm most afraid of. I've seen Bubba's Mom - MY mom - fight it twice. She's a survivor. I'm so very proud of her.

Today she was sucker punched again. I'm right beside her to fight Round 3. She's going to beat it once again. Cancer, be damned.

She WILL beat it. I know it. And, like I told you, she has a strong support system and she's wrapped tightly in prayer. This is another bump in the road that she shouldn't have to travel, but she'll make it to the other side. She WILL.

D--goodness sakes, prayer said here in L/S for your mom. I agree cancer is a rotten rotten disease. Of course you know my sis died from cancer and my mother is finishing up treatment right now as well--although sadly we don't have much of a relationship. I am glad you have a good relationship with yours and that she has you to hang onto. Bless your heart, you will get her through it again--until she is completely healed. xoxo

Crap. I'm sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers are with y'all. I have nothing else to add that the ladies ahead of me haven't already said (very eloquently, too).

I'm so, so, sorry, but you ladies -- and men -- couldn't be a stronger force to take that bastard cancer on and beat it again and again. Prayers, kind thoughts from me to you and yours.

She can do it! I know she can. I'm sending good thoughts and prayers to you and your family. :)

Do you read Empress Bee's blog? She's just went through a bout with it...she's a tough lady and she's fighting back. I know that your mom can too!
