“Many years ago when an adored dog died, a great friend, a bishop, said to me, "You must always remember that, as far as the Bible is concerned, God only threw the humans out of Paradise”- Author Unknown
We lost our beloved Misty today - tonight we are grieving and heartbroken, but we know she is free from pain and waiting for us in Heaven. A good friend sent me this poem tonight:
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
That pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of
Our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of
Food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those
Where were hurt are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our
Dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except
For one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be
Left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and
Looks into the distance. Their bright eyes are intent. Their body quivers, Suddenly
They begin to run from the group, flying over green grass, their legs carrying her faster
And faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling
Together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face;
Your hands again caress the head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,
So long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together…..

Wait for us, Misty - we'll see you again someday.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know it has made a great void in your home.
B/S I am so very sorry. Oh my goodness, how is the family doing? I will be thinking about you this weekend, my friend. And the poem, the Rainbow Bridge, I love that one. xoxo
Beautiful post. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
My heart is broken too. Misty was such a special pet. She was very loved and will be very missed. She always made me feel so special, like I was her favorite visitor in the world. She "held" my hand & looked me soulfully in the eyes. Yes, she will be missed.
You know we love ya'll and feel ya'll's pain.
Now I'm off to read Bubba's Mom's post.

We bring animals into our homes and our lives and they become family. I grieve every time we lose a pet or even an extended family member loses a pet i have known. I pray for comfort for you at this time (while blogging from church). :)
