Just call me Flo

Surgery on Monday went well, and Hubby Dumpty has been put back together again - his fibula has been set, and he has a screw holding the bones in his ankle together; his leg is in a soft cast from the knee down (it's driving him nuts, which makes me think that the hard cast he'll get in 2 weeks will REALLY drive him batty!). He is not really in pain, but he's uncomfortable, and it's hard for him to get around with the crutches. Yesterday he had a bad reaction to the new pain medication they put him on post-surgery, so we had to switch back to the pain pills he was taking for the week before surgery. Today is better.

My role as nurse seems to be going OK - I'm still managing a Florence Nightingale attitude, and haven't become Nurse Ratched. However, I think nursing as a profession is out for me. I just don't have the patients.

Patients? Or Patience? Or both? :)

Kudos to you, girl, and glad to hear hubby is doing ok. Never easy to have a Good Man down for a few days.

So glad everything went well. Husbands as patients are the worst. Bryan broke his hand almost two years ago and I thought I was going to die. I really don't know if I could handle someone getting a terminal illnesss. It's something I just don't think I'm wired for.

Anyway, I've been in your shoes before and hope all goes well. Soooo glad he's okay, and I hope his BP gets under control too!
